Ash Tree Vets has received a 4 year accreditation from the RCVS for Practice Standards. Although around half of the practice premises in the UK are accredited under the Scheme, we are the only one in Market Harborough. By pursuing and achieving accreditation, we have demonstrated that we meet RCVS standards across a range of different criteria encompassing areas such as client experience, clinical governance and the practice team.
The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) is a voluntary initiative run by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to accredit veterinary practices in the UK. Through setting standards and carrying out regular assessments, the PSS aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care. It offers peace of mind to clients of accredited practices and a more informed choice to the animal-owning public.
To become accredited, we volunteer for rigorous assessment every four years and have met a range of minimum standards. We are also subject to spot-checks between assessments. The PSS assessors talk to all team members, including the vets, vet nurses, and support staff, to make sure procedures are being followed and the whole team is working together to achieve a high level of veterinary care. This regulatory function means that users of our veterinary services can be assured that their veterinary surgeon or registered veterinary nurse is properly qualified and fit to practise, and that the practice premises meet stringent standards.
