VNAM 2021

1st May 2021

We are celebrating Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month!

Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month, or VNAM for short, was originally started by BVNA. The purpose of VNAM is to spread the word to the veterinary profession and pet owners, about the importance of the role of the veterinary nurse in practice, and the provision of responsible pet care to the general public.

We are incredibly proud of our Veterinary Nurses!

In any given day a veterinary nurse may find themselves taking x-rays, medicating patients, doing consults, maintaining equipment, monitoring anaesthetics, dressing wounds, answering phones, and the list goes on! Our surgery couldn't function without our nurses! From puppy parties to critical assistance in preparing theatre and instruments, preparing wound sites and maintaining anaesthetic, our RVNs are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients.

Veterinary Nurses undertake a vast amount of tasks including:

  • Anaesthetist
  • Surgical assistant
  • Fracture Nurse
  • Radiographer
  • Physiotherapist
  • Hydro therapist
  • Dietician
  • Phlebotomist
  • Paramedic
  • Pharmacist

    ...and so much more!
